CDPAP (Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program) is a Medicaid-funded program that allows the patient to remain home and choose their own caregivers. Potential caregivers can be an adult child, son/daughter-in-law, other family members (parents and spouses are prohibited) or friends. Caregivers are paid for providing daily assistance with personal care, house cleaning, meal preparation, administering medications, and other “skilled” nursing duties.
